Tendering

Our architects recommended a few builders and Expressions of Interest in the project were sought to establish a tender list.

Invitations to 18 builders went out mid-April and Archicentre received a total of 6 submissions (three for each property). References were checked to ensure the builders were suitable for this tricky project. There was a big variation between the highest and lowest tender. With T1 there was a 96% percent difference between the highest and lowest tender and with T2, the difference was 60%. The amount of money saved during this stage allowed Archicentre to erase the costs of the Architects' fees.

Archicentre entered into negotiations with the lowest tenderers, before reaching a point where contracts could be signed for each building. By June 1st, the builders were on-site and commencing demolition. Follow this link to the Architect's Diary for the continuing story: www.archicentre.com.au
