The free concept home design service to any Victorians planning to re-build their home after the 2009 bushfires is no longer offered,
Through the generosity of our members, James Hardie and Wood Naturally Better, we were pleased to be able to offer a free design service to those rebuilding their homes and wishing to use cost-effective lightweight, fire-resistant materials.
Archicentre’s Concept Home Design service included the following:
- A site meeting with a registered Archicentre architect to establish your specific needs
- A Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessment
- A review of local planning or building controls
- A concept design, including a floor plan and 1 or 2 elevation sketches
- Construction material & ember resistance recommendations
- An opinion of the likely construction cost
- Advice as to the next steps necessary to build your new home
